Chalmar Beef is a family-owned and operated business stretching back half a century. Their well-established meat distribution network supplies choice-grade beef, mutton and lamb to some of the most reputable eateries in South Africa, directly from their own cattle and sheep, farmed on their own land.

Distributing tender meat products directly to the public.

Although Chalmar had already been supplying meat to some big names in the restaurant industry, they wanted to supply meat directly to the public and create meaningful connections with their potential customers by making them a part of the Chalmar family. They also feel strongly that it is their responsibility to educate the public of the ins and outs of the meat industry.

Setting up shop in the digital age.

Although they already had a basic online store, their business objectives had changed and the existing online store would not be up to the task. KRAFT designsmiths™ set out to design an improved, customer-friendly online store and website, as well as a rejuvenated brand that would engage customers and improve their customer experience journey.

Getting the word out.

The KRAFT designsmiths™ created the branding for their delivery vehicles, and continue to create paid and organic social media campaigns that set Chalmar apart from their competitors. We also scripted and helped produce a 30s TV advertisement for Chalmar, which aired on DSTV channel, Via during December 2019.

Creating meaningful connections between business and customer.
Efforts to create a trustworthy brand that engages Chalmar’s clients culminated in the creation of blog and video content for the Chalmar Farm Kitchen and their YouTube channel. The Chalmar team creates recipes and gives tips on how to use their meat products, explore little-known facts about meat science and animal wellbeing, and examine best practices.
